Reclone Hubs

Reclone Hubs are established academic labs that have volunteered to facilitate the local sharing of DNA and reagents for research and diagnostics innovation in their region. They maintain the Reclone DNA collections and assist with distribution, shipping, training and R&D activities alongside the Reclone Nodes. This ensures that the open DNA collections are backed up in multiple places around the world and provides a local point of contact for technical support to ensure that the collections are used and useful.

Our Ashesi University Hub is led by Dr Elena Rosca, Head of the Engineering Department and long-term supporter of bioengineering including the Ashesi iGEM Team.
The Hub is getting started in 2024 and plans to be a focal point for plasmid distribution in West Africa and beyond, as well as performing collaborative R&D through student projects.

The Integrated Protein Research and Development Centre (IPRDC) at Ateneo de Manila University is the Reclone Asia Hub.
The IPRDC team has extensive experience in protein expression using the open DNA collections and has ongoing projects to develop open source bioreactors and other resources for the scientific community.

The Latin America Hub is hosted by Dr Maria Teresa Damiani ay National University of Cuyo (UNCUYO) in Mendoza Argentina.
The Hub is being established in 2024 and setting up to support plasmid distribution throughout Argentina and to nodes in other Latin American countries.
